Who can I sell my mobile phone to?

As mentioned before, there are loads of mobile phone recycling companies: here’s our top five:

Envirofone

A company completely focussed on the environmental aspect of mobile phone recycling, Envirofone have been running since 2006. The good news with Envirofone is that they accept both working and broken phones and they pay for the postage costs of sending your phone to them. Envirofone state that in their first year of business they paid out over six million pounds to customers, evidence of their popularity. Another quirk of Envirofone is that they allow you to recycle more than one phone at once.

Earth Mobile

Another company that is concerned with the environment, Earth Mobile have been running for four years but only recently opened their doors to public clients. They do pretty much everything that all the other companies do but the only downside is that they take longer than most companies to send your cheque at seven days.

Mazuma Mobile

Recycle your mobile in three easy steps should be Mazuma’s motto as it really is as easy as that. 1. Enter your make and model. 2. Post your phone. 3. Receive a cheque in the post. Mazuma is another older recycling company, founded in 2004, its average recycling numbers is about four hundred thousand a year.

Mobile Phone Xchange

Mobile Phone Xchange is the  same as all the other companies but their payment system is different. They use the ‘BACS’ system which means the money is paid directly into your bank account, some people find this quite useful as it means not waiting around for a cheque to arrive and then waiting for it to clear (which will take at least five days).

Mopay

Mopay have a range of payment options, and are one of the companies offering shopping vouchers instead of cash. In this case you have a choice of Arcadia vouchers which can be redeemed at Marks and Spencer’s, TopShop, TopMan, Miss Selfridge, Burtons etc. Useful if you like shopping for clothes! Mopay also offer BACS bank transfers (3 days), “PayOffline” where you are emailed a code you can redeem for cash at your local post office (3 days), Cheque (7 days) We7 Online Music credit. Mopay provide a freepost envelope and allow you to recycle up to four phones at once.

All these companies can be found on the web and so they’re easily accessable. Good luck with choosing a company to recycle your mobile!
